How we met
We first locked eyes at a quaint, ambient, artisanal, historic, locally-owned cocktail bar – Parkway Tavern. Months later, I moved in with Kyle and Bri while Bri and Chelsea were taking classes together. More months later, I posted a thirst trap – of Hammers – and Chelsea messaged me.
It was all uphill from there.

Eddie was a pleasant surprise from the beginning. He was interesting, intelligent, brutally honest, and – believe it or not – a hopeless romantic. Since then, he’s inspired and encouraged me to be the best version of myself, which we’ve discussed over dinner at our two-seater dining table from the (now demolished) Riviera since 2017.

The Proposal
We spent the day traveling to Savannah, drowning ourselves in oysters and cocktails and just enjoying each other’s company. Before we got back to our Airbnb, Eddie suggested we grab a case of Yeungling and visit Forsyth Park - very on-brand. He proposed in front of a beautiful, historic Savannah landmark and then we sat on this bench and talked for hours.

The ring was secured months in advance, with full intention of proposing at the annual Christmas on the River parade in Savannah. But I had misread the events calendar, and what was supposed to be a whimsical parade of boats and ferries was actually a monster truck and ATV rally. With those plans ruined, I set my sights on the most romantic spot in Savannah, Forsyth Park.
And with a stomach full of anxiety and a head full of hopes, I made the most beautiful person I’ve ever known into my better half.
